Dr. Javier J. González-Rosa is Associate Professor of Psychology at the University of Cádiz and leads the Psychophysiology and Neuroimaging Group at INiBICA. His research combines EEG, fMRI, deep and non-invasive brain stimulation to uncover how cortical and subcortical networks shape cognition, cognitive decline, and symptom progression in neurological and psychiatric disorders, with a strong focus on Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, Alzheimer’s disease, and OCD.
He has built an internationally connected research career through positions in Milan, Madrid, London, and Cádiz, and has established a highly competitive programme in multimodal neuroimaging, neuromodulation, and biomarker discovery. Over the last five years, he has led multiple national and international projects, published over 60 scientific contributions, and supervised a growing team of doctoral and postdoctoral researchers.
