I am a dedicated psychologist with a robust academic and practical foundation in neuropsychology and neuroscience, passionate about advancing knowledge of neural and behavioural functioning and mental health. I am particularly committed to the prevention of psychological distress and the promotion of psychophysical and psychosocial wellbeing. I approach psychology and neuroscience as essential tools to enhance awareness and understanding of human behaviour and mental processes within the biopsychosocial framework, fostering a culture of care for oneself, others, and the broader environment, ultimately contributing to an improved quality of life.
Throughout my undergraduate studies, I explored complex topics such as personal identity, the disintegration of the sense of Self following trauma, and associated dissociative symptoms, as well as sensorimotor psychotherapy approaches. During my master’s program, I gained practical experience working with patients affected by neurodegenerative conditions, administering neuropsychological assessment protocols and non-invasive brain stimulation procedures in investigative contexts. Additionally, I completed an experimental thesis investigating both the behavioural and neural oscillatory activity of patients with early-onset Alzheimer’s disease (EOAD) during a perceptual decision-making task using EEG recordings.
This period also allowed me to deepen my engagement with neuroscience research, reinforcing my commitment to advancing scientific knowledge and evidence-based practice.
I am particularly motivated to pursue an academic career that combines research and teaching, and I aspire to contribute to an international and stimulating research environment. My goal is to further the understanding of neural, cognitive, affective, and behavioural processes and to translate these insights into meaningful interventions that support mental health and wellbeing.
I am eager to apply scientific knowledge alongside my personal qualities in person-centred care pathways for patients and caregivers. I value the therapeutic relationship as a space of genuine human encounter and as a process of welcoming the Other, where care, transformation, and growth can occur through dialogue.
