Más info

Paloma is a PhD candidate in Psychology in the final stage of her doctoral training, having initiated her research career in the NaN Lab as an undergraduate research assistant. Her work lies at the intersection of advanced neuromodulation and neuroimaging, with a strong specialization in transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), corticospinal excitability TMS-related measures, and functional connectivity analyses. Her doctoral research provides novel insights into the therapeutic potential of bilateral intermittent theta burst stimulation over the primary motor cortex in Parkinson’s disease, integrating motor, non-motor, and rs-fMRI functional connectivity outcomes. Within this framework, she also conducts neuropsychological and neuropsychiatric assessments to comprehensively characterize clinical profiles and relate them to underlying neural mechanisms.

With a translational and clinically oriented approach, she aims to bridge mechanistic neuroscience and patient-centered interventions. While her primary focus is Parkinson’s disease, she has also contributed to studies involving multiple sclerosis, chronic migraine, and healthy participants, and has complemented her training with a short international research stay at the CNR in Parma.
