I am a postdoctoral researcher specializing in advanced Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) analysis, with a strong interdisciplinary background in neuropsychology and neuroimaging. My research is dedicated to identifying robust structural and functional MRI biomarkers that can reliably predict and characterize cognitive impairment across neurological conditions.
While my primary research line centers on translational neuroimaging in Multiple Sclerosis (leading two competitive research grants as Principal Investigator), I actively extend my expertise in advanced MRI analytics to other complex neurological disorders, including Early-Onset Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, Minimal Hepatic Encephalopathy, and Chronic Migraine. By applying innovative structural and functional imaging approaches across conditions, I aim to identify shared and disorder-specific neurobiological mechanisms that can inform earlier diagnosis, personalized treatment strategies, and improved clinical outcomes. Through rigorous methodology and clinically oriented research questions, my work seeks to bridge the gap between neuroimaging research and real-world neurological practice.
In parallel, I investigate sex- and gender-related differences in brain structure and functional connectivity in both clinical and non-clinical populations, aiming to advance personalized neuroscience and deepen our understanding of normative and pathological neurobiological variability. By characterizing how brain organization differs across individuals, my work contributes to more precise, inclusive, and biologically informed models of brain function.
