Serum neurofilament light chain (sNfL)

Home Research Blood-based brain biomarkers Serum neurofilament light chain (sNfL)

Neurofilaments (Nfs), the main byproducts of neuroaxonal breakdown, are potential “universal” biomarkers of neurodegeneration.

We investigate serum (blood) neurofilament light chain (sNfL) as a potential biomarker for neurodegenearion, neural plasticity, and treatment response in neurological patients.

Facilities: Our Lab utilizes different serum analysis approaches, including single molecule array (SIMOA) platform (available now in the University of Cadiz) and new high-sensitive enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) method for human protein detection.
